Paint Your Favorite Book Cover Workshop
Bring your favorite story to life through watercolor! In this workshop, everyone will learn essential watercolor techniques before painting their very own book cover artwork. Ahead of time, Alexandra will prepare custom outlines and detailed instructions for each participant’s chosen book cover.
The creative evening will start with video instruction that takes you through a watercolor basics warm up. This will allow you to get familiar with your materials and learn some basic techniques. You will then be able to dive into painting your beautiful book cover.
By the end of your meeting, everyone will leave with a unique, frame-worthy piece of art that celebrates their love of reading.
What’s included:
All materials for each participant (paints, brushes, palettes, and watercolor paper)
A pre-drawn outline of each participant’s selected book cover (provided in advance)
Step by step detailed instructions specific to each participant’s project.
Step-by-step video instruction to guide your group through the basics of watercolor and set you all up for success for everyone’s book cover project.
All participants will need to send an e-mail to alexandrandesigns@gmail.com with two options to decide between for their chosen book cover.
This activity will take a decent amount of time for everyone to complete their cover. I would plan for 3 hours, split the activity up between two meetings or guests might just take their project home to finish their project.
Please give at least 40 days before the date of your book club meeting to get everyone’s book cover submissions, individualized materials together and to account for shipping time.
